In 1996, the event set a record for attendance, surpassed only later by Formula 1 races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final Vancouver race in 2004 attracted 63,000 spectators on race day, with a total of 158,420 attendees over the three-day event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, in 2004, Vancouver was removed from the Champ Car schedule, marking the end of this iconic racing event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Discontent_Among_Residents\"><\/span>Discontent Among Residents<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Molson Indy Vancouver brought joy and excitement to many, it also sparked discontent among local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The noise and disruptions caused by the event were a source of frustration for some. She stated that the business model had become unsustainable.
