It is important to know both terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Types_of_Custody\"><\/span>Types of Custody<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sole Custody \/ Sole Decision-Making Responsibility<br>One parent has the full right to make decisions regarding:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Education<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Medical care<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Religious upbringing<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Child\u2019s place of residence<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Joint Custody \/ Joint Decision-Making Responsibility. Both parents jointly make major decisions for the child, even if the child primarily lives with one of them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical Custody \/ Parenting Time. Determines with whom the child actually resides and how much time is spent with each parent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Split Custody \/ Parallel Parenting.
