Dentists who qualified twice, on two continents

Every general dentist here earned a first dental degree abroad, then qualified again in Canada. After Tabriz, Dr. Nima Salimipour worked with the World Health Organization in southern Iran, treating people who had no other route to a dentist, founded a clinic in the centre of the country on the same principle, ran a private practice in Tehran — and started over at UBC. The practice has held the same corner of the West End for over thirty years.

Treatments

New-patient and oral exams, hygiene, root canals, extractions. Scanning and aligners

The dentists

Dr. Sasan Hadianfar, who leads the practice, took a dental surgery degree at the American University of Science and Technology in 2009 and a UBC dental doctorate in 2014, then postgraduate work in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implant and regenerative surgery, gingival plastic surgery, Botox and laser dentistry; he belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Shradha Naik qualified in 2009 and works to a minimally invasive, preventive method. Dr. Mona Sadegh completes the bench.

Are specialists in-house? No, and the practice says so plainly: the dentists cover the general and restorative range themselves and refer complex periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic and surgical work.

How is a whole arch replaced? All-on-4 fixes a bridge onto four implants; unlike a denture it stays in and does not restrict what you eat.
